Sunscreens For Kids and The Whole Family
Whenever I go to the store to shop for sunscreens for my kids and the whole family, the sunscreen aisle can either be completely overwhelming or in recent times rather sparse. Here is a list of sunscreens that have withstood the Texas sun this summer. I hope this helps you next time you are looking for a new sunscreen to try!
Blackgirl Sunscreen for Kids
This has been our most used sunscreen this summer. We have used up four of these. This sunscreen is water resistant, SPF 50 and has no fragrances. It dries clear and has no white cast. But most importantly, this sunscreen rubs in so easily and fast. This is a huge win for moms because kids will often complain if a sunscreen takes forever to rub in. This makes for easy application and reapplication as well.
Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Sunscreen
This might be marketed for babies but this is a great stick for reapplications for the whole family. It is water resistant, SPF 60+, and fragrance free. This stick is useful for touch ups on noses, ears and feet. It does leave a white cast. Lastly, this is a small size that is easy to just throw in your purse or diaper bag.
Sun Bum Face Mist
This is another lovely sunscreen that is great for reapplications or touch ups. It is SPF 45, light weight and water resistant. Also, it applies nicely over makeup during the middle of the day if you want some extra protection.
SuperGoop! Unseen Sunscreen
This is a good option but definitely more expensive. This works for the whole family as it is invisible, weightless and scentless. It is an SPF 40 and rubs into the skin so easily. It also works as a nice makeup primer. Lastly, this is oil free and water resistant.
ThankYou Farmer Sun Project Water Sun Cream
This is my favorite sunscreen to wear daily under my makeup. I have repurchased this 4 times. It is lightweight, SPF 50+ and leaves no white cast. This is a wonderful everyday, water based sunscreen that is quickly absorbed, which is why I love it under my makeup. It does have a light fragrance. My kids have worn it too but just to note this is a water based sunscreen and not suitable for swimming or water sports.
Tula & Canmake (Honorable Mentions)
I couldn’t write a post about sunscreens without mentioning these two. First is the Tula Protect and Glow Daily Sunscreen. This is only a SPF 30 but leaves a beautiful glow that looks good with or without makeup. It is oil free and has no white cast. The next one is Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV. I like the clear version since it leaves no white cast. It also leaves a beautiful glow that is a more subtle option compared to the Tula one I just mentioned. This one is not waterproof though.
As you can see, we take sun protection seriously in our family! I hope this post was helpful and useful for you as you shop for sunscreens for your kids and the whole family. Enjoy the rest of the summer!
