Lunch Ideas For The Whole Family

Now that’s it back-to-school time, you might be thinking of lunch ideas the kids and the whole family will like. Here are a few ideas as you shop and plan family lunches:

Rice Cakes with Cream Cheese

This is an easy and delicious lunch idea. I pack each item separately or in a bento box container. You can also add turkey slices, cucumber slices and everything but the bagel seasoning on the rice cake too.

Tortilla Roll Ups

These are a great go to lunch item and the kids can help with the preparation too. We like wheat tortillas and add turkey cheese and ranch dressing. This is also delicious with ham, lettuce and tomatoes.

Chickpea Salads

Packing this in a bento box or container with separate containers is the best way to pack salads for lunch. That way they will not get soggy.  In our house, we like shredded carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese and vinaigrette or vegan ranch dressing. As for the chickpeas, you can fry them up in the air fryer. Just mix the chickpeas with olive oil and the seasonings of your choice. We usually just do garlic powder and chili powder. Set the temp to 350-375 and check on them every 5 minutes until you achieve your desired crunchiness. If your family doesn’t like chickpeas, then try grilled chicken or canned tuna or salmon.

Bento Box

In our house, we call these bento box lunches. Basically, this is a personalized combination of a protein, carb and fruit or vegetables. We like turkey lunch meat, salami, cheese, cucumbers, baby carrots, hummus or cream cheese. You might try yogurt, sliced fruit or crackers and peanut butter.

Banana Sandwich

This is a fan favorite with the kids in the house. We like to use peanut butter or almond butter with banana and honey. It is such a classic and delicious choice.

In A Hurry Lunches

Let’s face it sometimes, we are running super late in the mornings and need to pack a  quick lunch for the kids or your partner. In that case, you can stick to a classic turkey and cheese sandwich. Or for the picky eater in the family maybe just a cheese and mayo sandwich. Lastly, salami and crackers with a piece of fruit is sometimes all you have time to pack.

I hope this post was helpful to you, and I hope your week is a lovely one!
