Easy Fall Fashion

It’s that time of year when the weather is finally turning colder. You are probably tempted to buy a few new items for your wardrobe or your family’s wardrobe. Here are some ideas to maximize your fall wardrobe and some of my current favorites for the autumn season.

Straight Leg Jeans

I don’t know about you but I am so happy that the reign of skinny jeans is coming to an end. Now don’t get me wrong, I will still occasionally wear them but a straight leg is more comfortable and more current in my opinion. A good straight leg jean is such a versatile fall piece. You can wear with t-shirts, sweaters and blouses. My favorite ones I have found are from Free Assembly found at Walmart and ones from Abercrombie.

Lug Sole Boots

This is such a cool and comfortable boot option for fall. These look great with straight leg jeans just make sure your boots can fit under your jeans. These also look super current with a skirt and sheer black tights. Also, a flat boot is just more practical for daily life and mom life too. DSW has some cute options. I like this one and these ones from Target.

Trousers

This is such a popular trend this year, and there are so many options to pick from. Abercrombie has several options to embrace the trouser trends. This looks fun with a more casual shoe such as a fun sneaker or a chunky loafer. As for the tops, try a tighter t-shirt or bodysuit. You can add a blazer for a stylish third piece to complete the outfit. My favorite ones I got are from Abercrombie but Asos has so many options, too.

Dad or Chunky Sneakers

Another fun item to add to your fall wardrobe is a dad sneaker. New Balance ones are the way to go. There are so many options and colors to pick from. DSW, J.Crew, Urban Outfitters and Foot Locker still have in stock style available. I like this darker pair, this pair with a little pink accent, and this grey pair too. This trend definitely combines comfort with the cool factor.

Trench Coat

A trench coat is another fall item that is not only stylish but useful. I got a brown plaid one at Banana Republic Outlet and absolutely love it! It has a beautiful lining and is warm without being too bulky. Mango has some pretty options too such as this black trench option. This item can really dress up any look and elevate a more casual fall look too.

Oversized Denim Jacket

Like many, I love a good denim jacket. It is so perfect for layering too. This season I finally decided to update this item in my wardrobe to a move relaxed and oversized fit. I found a great one at Target. Old Navy has some affordable options. If you want to splurge, Able has a gorgeous one that has amazing reviews.

Family Wardrobe

Now that mom has maybe updated her wardrobe with a few new items for the autumn season, it’s time to think of the kids. First, I like to go through my children’s current wardrobe and have them try on their pants. Then I make a list to see what I need to replace since they usually grow a few inches each year and make holes in their pants.

Next, I look at their pajamas and add what they need to my shopping list. Then we usually donate what we can and pass down smaller sizes to family and friend’s kids. Lastly, I have them try on their boots, jackets and sweatshirts to see what still fits them. For the kids, I usually find the best deals at Old Navy, Target and Walmart.
